Starting in 1980 the "Capitol Earth Rugs" company has offered eco-friendly, 100% natural jute fiber trivets imported from Bangladesh. These trivets are braided, jute makes a strong material for them. The jute fiber is beautiful, strong and durable. Earth Rugs has a unique quilt patch braid design. The trivets are sewn together as they did 100 years ago.
Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber that can be spun into coarse, strong threads.
